Case Study: Norton Packaging
Norton Packaging partnered with Conveyors & Drives, Inc. to design and implement a conveyor system to safely move 5-gallon plastic pails through a very tight space and keeping an important forklift aisle clear.
Space was very limited so a tight radius curve and slight elevation changes throughout were used to avoid existing conveyor and still transition the empty buckets to the filling machine.
Norton Packaging produces the industry’s most innovative and dependable containers. Their unique injection molding process enables superior precision and unmatched structural integrity in all their products.
Conveyors & Drives installed a SpanTech Helical Curve conveyor which allows for elevation changes and radius changes with one continuous conveyor system with no transition points throughout. Because of the unique abilities of this type of conveyor, Conveyors & Drives, Inc. was able to move the buckets under an existing conveyor and then elevate up to feed into an existing bucket filling machine.
The SpanTech Helical Curve conveyor was a perfect solution for this application. The ability to make elevation changes and direction changes with one motor and one continuous belt allowed the buckets to be transported smoothly to the filling machine.
