Traditional conveyor rollers are designed primarily to move products forward. When an operator needs to push a package sideways across those rollers, however, the rollers create significant lateral resistance.
Omni Metalcraft RSL has a solution; the patent-pending design of the VectoRoller™ addresses that problem at the roller surface.
VectoRoller™ wheels are mounted perpendicular to the primary direction of roller rotation, allowing packages to move laterally with substantially less resistance. In controlled engineering testing, a 50-lb tote required approximately 2.5 lbs. of lateral force on a VectoRoller™ compared with approximately 14 lbs. on a standard 1.9″ gravity roller—an approximately 80% reduction in lateral force under those test conditions.
Key Benefits
- Reduced lateral resistance — Makes it easier to move packages sideways across the conveyor.
- Reduced operator strain — Supports easier repetitive picking, diverting, and repositioning.
- Retrofit-friendly design — Designed as a drop-in replacement for standard 1.9″ rollers.
- Easy installation — Uses a 7/16″ spring-retained hex axle.
- Maintenance friendly — Designed to install and maintain similarly to conventional conveyor rollers.
- Gravity and powered applications — Available in multiple drive configurations.
- Configurable wheel density — VectoRoller™ wheels can be configured at rates up to two wheels per inch of effective tube width.
- Engineered design —Allows for mounting on true 2” centers.
- Unique design — Maximizes load capacity by making the tube the load carrying component rather than the axle, a key point of differentiation with alternative commercial options.
- Same weight as its traditional counterpart — A true straight retrofit as it requires no modification to the existing system design and power supply setup.
